About Us

Since 1978, the city of Minot, North Dakota has hosted a Scandinavian festival. Upon the original festival’s dissolution, the Fjord Folk Fest was founded to continue the beloved traditions and celebration of the heritage.

Celebrating Scandinavian Heritage Together

Fjord Folk Fest is a celebration of Scandinavian heritage, local creativity, and community spirit. The festival brings together music, art, storytelling, traditional crafts, and regional cuisine — all in the spirit of honoring where we come from and inspiring where we’re going.

Our Mission

Our mission is to immerse guests of all ages in the beauty and spirit of Scandinavian heritage—celebrating craftsmanship, storytelling, music, and cuisine that honor the past while inspiring future generations to carry traditions forward.

Our Vision

To unite generations in celebrating Scandinavian heritage, fostering a sense of belonging, pride, and shared purpose through culture, music, and togetherness.

Fjord Folk Fest is proudly operated by the Uffda Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Nordic traditions, supporting community arts, and fostering sustainable creative events across North Dakota.
